LOL I hope you're not going to  tell a Hare Krishna something like that either,  and what does that have to do with concealment of the face in public space?

On an earlier point, observing dress code in ME, not being allowed to hold hands in public, prolonged looks at women, are not just suggestions for westerners to observe out of respect.   Such misconducts are punishable by fines or jail time.   Which is OK...when in Rome etc....

what does it have to do with concealment of the face ?

concealment of there face  in public  relates to religious based dress  ......same as the Cassock  does.

We are talking about here not Rome or the ME ....we don't control the way other people dress here in our Country

...the state of undress may be a concern in most public places here .

I'll have a tanty and get the thread locked azureline

don't you want to discuss Martini's topic Clair ?

now now, behave. Have you got a hobby yet?

The burqa wearing ladies live here, many of them were born here. Islam is not a country and not everyone who lives in the Middle East wears a burqa..............

Well actually, someone did raise a point about westerners not being forced to wear certain types of clothes, I simply responded that was not the case.  They are being forced to comply.

We are talking about face covering ie the veil.  No one is objecting to wearing religious clothing in general, are they?  So mentioning other religions' clothes is irrelevant.   This issue is very specific ie not being able to see someone's face.  Not arms, ankles, necks...Just the face, for reasons accacia ???  i think it was that so eloquently explained.

acacia pycnantha - that was who I meant..

Look at all the people giving me kudos in this thread
