It's a good job eh elizabeths-mum?  Sorry I hadn't seen your post until after I started my thread.

I only had 1 spoilt paper but I wasn't on the issuing point all that long.  We had quite a few below the line, and unfortunatly a few that tried but ended up informal.

We all stayed in the one job all day (which surprised me because I expected to rotated through) and I hadn't realised sitting for so long was so painful! 🙂

It is fascinating and I think it would be a great job for school leavers because you learn a lot more about our voting system and how valuable it is. One of our workers was from Iraq or Iran (didn't find out which) and was very angry at the people who messed their votes up on purpose, while counting that is, he was lovely to the public.

I have always found QLDs laid back way of voting, in NZ you have to be in a booth on your own and no one is allowed to talk to you.

Same as getting your drivers licence, in NZ you are in a room with a traffic Cop not allowed to talk.

QLD you just go to a booth and people can talk to you and you could have the book with he answers no one seems to care

Oh, and I meant to say.  No problem with asking for another paper grandmoon.  Much better that than having to cast your paper onto the informal pile.
