My favourite nursery rhymes when I was a kid were struwwelpeter, loved those poems and still do.

When my friend had a sleepover she would cry when my father read the one about the big scissor man who'd come and chop off the thumbs of naughty little thumb suckers lmao
.

Here is the part that made her cry lmao

The door flew open, in he ran,
The great, long, red-legged scissor-man.
Oh! children, see! the tailor's come
And caught out little Suck-a-Thumb.
Snip! Snap! Snip! the scissors go;
And Conrad cries out "Oh! Oh! Oh!"
Snip! Snap! Snip! They go so fast,
That both his thumbs are off at last.
.

So many children today do not even know the Nursery Rhymes..........and they are so important for learning the rhythm of language.

I am now thinking We Willie Winky might be an easy costume.............Humpty would be too but she might think I am trying to tell her something...........

The red legged scissor an would be perfect, Flashie 😄 all they'll need is red stockings and a large, sharp pair of scissors lol

.

Will the threads stop when 50 000 is finally reached..............Cat Frustrated

I want to go for an obvious one though Karen.........as they will be walking in a big group.

Hmm, well there's another one about a man who tries to shoot a rabbit, but the rabbit grab the gun, then chases him. The man falls down a well and dies lmao

Or the nasty little racist boy who teased an African kid, so the big giant inkamoor grabbed him by the hair and dipped him in black ink lol

.

Not sure that would go down well walking around the main block of Hobart in a Christmas Pageant.

It was written 100+ yrs ago, so it doesn't have any Santa poems 😞

I'm guessing the one about the naughty girl who played with matches, after she was told NOT to, then burned til she died... It wouldn't be suitable? Nor the one about the boy who went out in a storm, after his mum told him NOT to, then blew away into the clouds (and died lol)... Nor the boy who didnt watch where he was walking and walked right into a river lmao

.

It is meant to be Nursery rhymes.

I just thought of somthing horrible............I hope no one does Ding Dong Dell............Cat Surprised
