I don;t think there would be any comeback for the OP through Fair Trading. They asked the plumber to do a job at their property, they didn't get a verbal or written quote first. The work was completed to their satisfaction., they never called the plumber and said where is you bill I want to get it paid....the plumber didn't have to offer them 3 months to pay it off at $100 p.w.

I think it's twisted too. The plumber was around to do a job for the neighbour at mates rates and Banora was asked to let him check her property and gets hit with a $374 bill which is a lot higher than the neighbour that called him out in the first place.

The Facts:
Plumber was asked to do the job.
He did.
He hasn't been paid.

We did ask the plumber to come back and do a simple job for us, preferably before end of May 2013
OP does that mean the work done at your property, wasn't actually connected to the flooding events at the neighbours property?

Well technically he hasn't finished the job, he hasn't been back to complete the verbal agreement, to return and finish the agreed upon extra job.
