Jury Duty.

I am to attend jury tomorrow, on the jury Court List it has we are on stand by are we still required to attend the Court House?

I have never been asked.

I sent you mail BTW

I'm jealous! I've always wanted to do jury duty. Got called up once but my kids were too young and I couldnt spare the time to do it.

No idea. I have been called up three times in three years. Being hearing impaired and not home gets me out. No desire to do jury service at all.

Yes Freddie as far as i know you still have to be there. I've been on jury duty twice.

and it doesn't mean you'll actually get picked to be on a jury, The defence can challenge you eg, if the case is a robbery case and you're a bank teller by profession the defence won't want you on the jury,  things like that

they sort of have a pool of people to select from and it's really boring, you all have to sit  quietly in a room and all there is to do is drink coffee and read newspapers

Same happened with me Punch, that was about 35yrs ago, this time I could have been excused, but I have always wanted to do this, so I thought nup i'm going.

After reading the lawlink site I now see we are not required to attend tomorrow, but we are on standby for further call up.

Your panel is on standby.

Please check this page again after  4.30pm on Tuesday 8th October 2013

No, I'm pretty sure you are not required to attend but need to check  after certain time for further information.

You are also required to let them know if there is anyone involved in the case you know, the person on trial, witnesses, etc.

oh I see Freddie, sorry I missunderstood

even being called up and being present, is like being on stand by for a case.

I might wear a sign Deb 'pick me, pick me, LOL
