my advice

stay put

Why?

if i could get a job where you live i would move there in a second

in my xperirnce jobs are not easy to come by

It is hard to get a job anywhere... I would not leave where I am unless I had a job to go to.

this is a long term plan... when I decided to move here it took me 15 months to make the move... leaving here will mean a lot of planning...

can I ask what you do Ibis?? I can keep an eye out for you. send it to me in a PM if you like.

I found it is not what you know but who you know.

I am hoping that the new government can help create jobs growth again....

you couldn't move without having a job to go .Could you ? People who leave areas were they are employed don't get any support if they move to somewhere where they don't have a job ...can they ?

I think that you'd get used to the weather

I've travelled and moved states a lot.

Cat, if you don't want to go right down south to Sydney, have a look at Coffs Harbour..

Quite a large area on the ocean super large shopping centres and great climate, it really only gets cold for about 6 weeks of the year, rest of the time it is temperate. It's only 1 hour by plane from Sydney and about the same to Brisbane. Added bonus it has a LNP Member.Smiley LOL

Yes.. I agree.... Move to Coffs Harbour... Cat Very Happy

You live up this way don't you jean?

You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means

I'd move to Coffs Harbor in the blink of an eye if I could.  got friends there

who live on a caravan site, own their own caravan which is quite big, and

so comfortable.  Coffs and surrounds seem to have everything including a

wonderful climate.

You are right Bright, your friend here. I moved to Coffs Harbour in 1980 and it has changed a lot. A lot busier but nothing like living in the city. You can still get parking in town. Yes, the climate is the best but in some ways it is still like a country town. As for rent, there are always quite a few properties advertised for rent with varying prices, nothing like the city though. Jobs, pays to know someone. However, if you aren't choosy there are jobs out there. This is a tourist area so if you have experience in hospitality e.g. cooking, coffee shops, you could probably pick up a job tomorrow. Also, there are many very nice places surrounding Coffs which may have cheaper rent. Also, we do have our own university.
