He had liver cancer, an organ replacement was offered to him, he said he couldnt take it, when someone else needed it and he said he didnt deserve to have a transplant.

PH, he was not offered a liver.

Read said he wasn't a candidate for a transplant because of scar tissue around his liver, caused by former associate Jimmy Loughnan during a stabbing "sneak-go" in Pentridge Prison in 1979.

for any of the same reasons children are placed  in care now .Why would religion exclude that happening ?

I feel for any family who mourn the loss of a loved one.If he was a member of my family I do think that I may have expected to hear of his passing for the majority of his adult life

imo watching a loved one suffer over a long period of time with a terminal illness makes it easier to see the passing as a relief for them.

My cat is named after him, and my cat is a thug too - also has part of his ear missing after fighting

I am constantly amazed at the memory lapses when someone passes......they were all lovely people, kind hearted, do anything for anyone.................never a cross word.........

Yes that would be about right Az. People have very short memories at times. He was a thug and thrived on the limelight.
