Lakeland, sometimes I watch the older cars racing, when I can find what channel it is on, but it makes me sad when they prang them.

what about the classic races in the UK at somewhere like Goodwood. one race featured at least half a dozen ferrari 250 GTO's worth many millions apeice. they believe in using them as intended, and there's quite a few specialists capable of building new parts or the entire car as long as you have the money and engine and chassis numbers written down somewhere ![]()

LL, ferrari themselves restore old ferrari classics, saw a doco on tv about it
each and every model produced have been documented and theyve got all the tooling to reproduce old parts too, blew me away

i did know that, but i hadn't seen the clip. Aston martin and companies like bristol used to offer that service, park ward mulliners or someone could do it for a rolls or bentley. big money though.

don't mind horse races, at least you can eat the loser.
hehehe, i think it was a kiwi who organized a motorcycle race bewteen a couple of fellas on a horse race track, somewhere in W.A, the beginings of motorsport (so i heard)
