i think it's cos the UK is an island and they must subsidise the shipping costs or so. maybe cos it's commonwealth....
it is usually worth looking in the UK when buying stuff on the net.

anyway, there are heaps there for about 15 bucks inclusive the shipping. just buy it on ebay.
It is not matter of money, I just believe that we should be recycling more; stuff that does not get recycled ends up in land fill. I was just surprised that few bits of plastic cost that much, I would not pay $80 for simple toy that my granddaughter will only use for couple of months, but that does not mean I will buy the cheapest one just because it is cheap 🙂
My granddaughter will be 3 in couple of months, so she is still bit too little for porcelain set, I think. She will be playing on the slate paving in the back.

i get ya.
didn't think you were a cheapscate.
i would feel deeply ripped off for spending more than a few bucks on some little pieces of plastic. it's not rocket science required to make them, they have no engine, no complicated to fabricate bits and are not made of silver either....

I had a porcelain toy dinner/tea set when I was a child (many moons ago) .Visiting kids broke a few pieces of it when I was little I just gave it away recently. I don't think many people would give breakable teasets to very small children now.

The one in the pic was $29.95 at a toy shop but I have seen them in Kmart.
