Do I really need 100mbs?
Video game consoles dictate future film and movie media.
If it was not for the PS2, blu ray would not have taken off like it has.
Game consoles as well as PC's and everything else are headed for digital distribution to make more money and cut down on piracy.
No more hard copies means no more people buying second hand games/mobies/tv shows and distributors of this media will not loose money from the reselling.
Online data storage will take off, especially amongst apple users and massive 3tb hard drives will be a thing of the past.
Blu rays and DVD's will be gones by 2020 and replaced with streaming or downloading and we will need something better than the copper wire network we have from the 1920's.
So yes, you will need 100mbs and faster everyone whinging about it need to realise that we need to keep up with technology.

Also, Telstra have stopped the upkeep of the current broadband systems.
From talking to some contractors, there are currently allot of bottlenecks and connection speed problems because of the fact they do not want to waste money keeping the current system alive and are concentrating on the new high speed fibre optic network.
