I amon count down for the wind to stop..............it is suppose to start settling down very soon.............I am now way past over it.

 

We normally have a few windy days this time of the year.................but this year it has been a few weeks.

 

I did manage to catch up on the gardening today.................and we loaded up the trailer to take all our rubbish to the tip.......................but the tip is closed because of the wind..........so it is now sitting in the driveway.

I have just been reading about some louts in the US who intentionally toppled an ancient rock formation in a State Park in Utah!

 

There really are some idiots and vandals around

The rain is easy to cope with but wind seems to get everyone's nerves on edge.

 

At least you and Karen have been productive outdoors today - I cannot even claim that lol

 

The only thing I did (which I will never do again) is go to the supermarket on a Saturday morning.  I have never seen so many people in there 😞  It transpired that another supermarket in the next suburb was ram-raided last night as a result of which it is closed.  Every man and his dog obviously chose the supermarket I did - also in an adjacent suburb!!

 

It took me so long to get through that I also missed my library opening hours 

 

Still - in the scheme of things none of that is of any real importance!

 

Raining on and off here now ..... I wonder whether j*oono went to her local show.  Hope she took some wet weather gear if she did lol

Yes, I did go to the show for a couple of hours.  It only rained very lightly at times so not too bad but it was FFFrrrrreeeeeeezing!  I would have stayed a little bit longer but I was getting so cold.

 

They have a pretty good turn out this year.  Last year was very quiet but they had quite a crowd.  My poor nieces having to pay such exhorbitant prices for a show ride for their kids.  One of them was a little swimming pool with inflatable bubbles.  The kids could get into the bubbles and float around on the pool for a couple of minutes.  Kaching! $12 each thank you.

I would have thought that the temperatures AND the price for just a couple of minutes might have turned folks off that!

 

Doh!  Just realised that perhaps the swimming pool didn't have water in it - just bubbles 

 

Did they have any wood-chopping?  Used to love that at the Sydney Royal!

They usually have wood chopping Laney but I didn't see it.  The pool did have water in it but the giant bubbles were sealed with the kid inside.  There were so many bubbles in the pool that they couldn't do much in there but bob around lol.

 

One of my nieces has three kids.  She bought them a slushie each in a sipper cup.  $24

 

I suppose I used to do the same when my boys were little.  It was always a favourite day and they used to save for it too.

j*oono - I got it all wrong then - did not realise the children were inside the bubbles.

 

Thinking about the Sydney Royal we all used to hang out for the sample bags!  I recall the string handles used to cut through our hands by the end of the day.  They were nowhere near the price they are today and the contents were far superior also - REAL sample bags lol

 

We used to look forward to it each year as our kids did too - exhausting but special memories too, no matter what the cost.

Stringers, my back is stiff, but a very good thing happened. A small boy saw me slaving away and asked if he could earn some pocket money...so we negotiated 15.00 an hour if he tries to work like an adult 😄

He told me he's way better than an adult lol, god love him. He's about 10.

Anyway, he's coming tomorrow ...I hope.
