Boy did we have some rain last night and this morning ...... I was up early as a result and even beat the gym opening

Boat races is the name for beer sculling competitions, Joono lol, they do have dry river boat races in Alice springs....and a beer can regatta in Darwin.

Pimpy, I made the mistake of telling Yowie I was thirsty, after driving up from Forbes in 45 degrees... Thinking a glass of water would be nice...but he got me a free schooner of beer. I don't drink alcohol (gee I was out of place in that environment lol) but he looked so proud to be giving it free, I had to drink it...and then had to sit there for an hour until I could walk to the bar to thank him lmao

He was actually a good bloke. He couldn't read a word, but could read the horse form... Well, he thought he couldn't read until I pointed out he was reading the horse form lol

Did you ever play golf on the Grawin golf course? It was amazing! Dry dirt with diesel slicked "greens". My roo avatar was taken on that golf course.

I remember going to the Henley on Todd regatta when I lived in the NT.

 

Our youngest son went out for a night on the town with his mates last night..............and got come just before daylight....................and for some reason decided he needed me to get him a hot water bottle....

 

He has jsut arisen.................eaten everythign that was not nailed down...........and gone back to bed.

 

Karen.............I bet that young lad is very proud of his efforts this morning.

Laney, he worked like a trooper and got twice as much moved as I expected. I do think two hours was a little too long... I hope the red colour had gone from his face by the time he got home to his mum lol

Those diesel greens were very handy Karen - you could 'create' a good path for the ball with those 'pipe' smoothers that were usually at every 'green' lol.  Used to play on one at Murrurrundi!

 

Just listening to the fire reports - the fire at Bell has flared up again - hope they can keep it from going too far into the Grose otherwise it will be impossible to stop.  The magnificent Blue Gum Forest was lost that way 

 

 

It is meant to bucket down here soon....................but my plants in pots outside need a water now...........they are looking ratehr limp after all the wind here..............do I do it now.........or wait for the rain.................decision decisions decisions.
