Link in iza's last post. First the shutter was said to be broken, now reversed to say it wouldn't be necessary to break the shutter to kidnap a child out the window.. WOW ground breaking news, as reported to a journalist.
2007
THE spokesman for the family of Madeleine McCann has reversed a statement made in the early days of the search for the missing child.
Speaking to RTE's 'Prime Time', Clarence Mitchell said she could "easily" have been kidnapped by an abductor who did not leave the trail of a break-in.
However, in the early part of the hunt, friends and family members told journalists that the shutter on the apartment where the McCanns were staying had been broken.
Mr Mitchell made his comments when questioned by a 'Prime Time' team in a report on the disappearance to be screened tomorrow. "There was no evidence of a break-in," said Mr Mitchell.
"I'm not going into the detail, but I can say that Kate and Gerry are firmly of the view that somebody got into the apartment and took Madeleine out the window as their means of escape, and to do that they did not necessarily have to tamper with anything. They got out of the window fairly easily."

Wouldn't have or shouldn't have the police investigating the crime, noted in their notes whether the window frame/lock/catch had shown signs of forced entry, whether the shutter was broken?

It could have been that the 'family and friends' got the information second or third hand and may not even have been in the country ... a case of Chinese whispers or well-meaning people embellishing for the media ...

Remember how the Morcombe relentlessly campaigned to keep the case of their missing son open?
Finally they were rewarded with, at least, closure.
I would wish the same for the McCanns and good on them for keeping up the search for their missing daughter.

Icy, I hope that that little girl is found and laid to rest. I don't believe that those two highly trained and experienced British Police dogs got it wrong .That kind of evidence is used in Court rooms as evidence of murder charges .It is not something which I can dismiss as meaningless .If they detected cadaver scent that should mean something...it has just been swept under the carpet as irrelevant by the McCanns .I don't suggested murder though I do tend to feel that she died in that room .If she did .... all this is so wrong .Finding the child should be the focus not the parents in the spotlight telling us what they want us to hear and limiting all other theories which are not to their liking...to keep getting the message to the world not to forget that their daughter is still missing.
If they wanted to find her they shoud be asking for the case to be reopened in Portugal. They and their friends should have done the reconstruction there years ago ...they didn't.Asking the world to help them and them not doing those things themselves.
I don't believe things are as the media and the McCanns have been telling us re how the case was handled in Portugal....I think that serves their purpose to imply that .It seems that they have put a bit of effort into discredit the PJ and their police investigation. That being the case ...people don't look at what was done and found where they otherwise might.
The one case their Lawyer bought up to totally dismiss the finding of dogs ..it was only dismissed by one judge as 'enough evidence for that one murder conviction'.....that person later plead guilty .

I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me exactly what ALL these other theories are.
The only alternative I've ever seen put forward is that Madeleine died in the apartment and both her parents, all the friends who were with them a the time and later several family members were all part of a conspiracy to cover it up. If you know of other theories which the British Police are ignoring, I would really like to hear them

Cadaver dogs are trained to find DECOMPOSING bodies, or place where the DECOMPOSING body was located even if it was later moved. These dogs do not distinguish what sort of body - human or animal - they found.
Would you explain to us how the child's body was situated in the flat for long enough to start decomposing?
Cadaver dogs are used to find bodies or blood stains, which then can convict people as a supporting evidence after further forensic tests. But in this case the forensic tests found nothing except Madeleine's DNA, and that is one reason why the dogs' "finding" was dismissed. Also there is no motive or time for the parents to do what you are accusing them of. If there was an accident the parents, who are doctors, would act in the way they are trained to and would call ambulance while trying to resuscitate the child.
As the dogs' handler Martin Grimes, who worked with his dogs on the Maddie case, admitted the animals offered no more than "a guide". He said: "They can identify traces of blood and detect the smell of a decomposing body, but that is as far as they go." Martin said his dogs Keela and Eddie would only give him an indication when they find what they are trained to detect.

Where on the earth can you see that I said something like that?
On the contrary, I am totally disgusted with all the people who are are looking at the gossip blogs and drag out what is written there presenting it as facts.
