Supa, the 5 stages of the decomposition process start after death. Some dogs as I understand it are trained to pick up the fresh scent .
The evidence may not have been enough for a murder conviction .That seems to have been argued with the use of that 1 case in America ...the case used ..the man later plead guilty.
Does that mean that the evidence is meaningless ?
If so why is the evidence of cadaver dogs being used in Court rooms ?

It would be helpful if people didn't jump to conclusions!
My comment was not to you super nova.....but at another member. The problem with this new system is the last posters name being included in posts.

This is Clarence Mitchell (article 2007 )
who has been their media spokesperson. Reprts earlier this year say he's now running for the Torries
Profile: Clarence Mitchell |
Madeleine maelstrom
Clarence left the BBC quite suddenly, making a move into the Labour government as director of its Media Monitoring Unit. His salary was widely reported to be £70,000 a year.
As the Madeleine McCann story exploded this summer, it became clear that a high level of control and organisation would be needed to cope with the media maelstrom.
Clarence was plucked from his job, and sent out to handle the media, rather than be part of the media, on a massive crime story. Now he's left his government job and gone in with the McCanns full-time.
Setting aside the essential tragedy of whatever happened to Madeleine McCann, I would imagine Clarence is content in his new role as the family's voice.
He's centre stage on a huge story, intimately involved as ever, and on television and in the papers all the time.
It was extraordinary how, last week, his intervention seemed to eliminate within hours any misgiving about the McCanns in the British media.

Yes it is stupid system, yes, it is hassle to scroll right up to click on the generic REPLY button, BUT if you click on "reply" on my post you are commenting on something I said. If you wish to comment on whatever people say WHY not click on the REPLY button on their post, so we all know what you are talking about and who you are talking to?

because I read all the posts first and back scrolling is a waste of time? There is no rule that it's required is there? Plus there are times when I reply to more than one post at a time.....more confusion? lol
But then if posters didn't jump to the conclusion that a reply is about them we wouldn't have this issue?

Reply re the dogs............ again, the 2 dogs are trained for different things, one for blood detection, the other for decomposing bodies.
They can't tell who or when..........

Az, people would need to rule out the possibility of someone having ever died in areas they give an alert/response to.
From reading around some want to know if they would get away with leaving such young children alone
I didn't realise until recently that the Tapas bar was an entirely seperate building, paths, trees and a pool in between.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
From the UK ..
The law doesn’t say an age when you can leave a child on their own, but it’s an offence to leave a child alone if it places them at risk.
Use your judgement on how mature your child is before you decide to leave them alone.
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) says:
- children under 12 are rarely mature enough to be left alone for a long period of time
- children under 16 shouldn’t be left alone overnight
- babies, toddlers and very young children should never be left alone
The law says that parents can be prosecuted if they leave a child unsupervised ‘in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health’.

Is that UK law?
They were in Portugal so maybe different laws?
However, you would assume they were not placed in danger.....................safe in bed or porta cot. Parents 50m away... checks every half hour.
When sleeping at night, we don't check our children every half hour do we?

I that case they would also indicate if they pick up the smell of packet of pork chops left in the boot of a car for few minutes. Considering that dead pigs are what is used for training these dogs.

I think that pork is the only other scent that they may respond to (have you read the files and watch the footage and reports) .They are trained not to bark for any other reason than their intended official duties .these dogs and their Police handler were part of the British Police force. If people don't wish to discedit the British Police Force they would not discredit them would they ?
As far as I am aware the McCann's weren't in a court room trying to defend the dogs findings to defend themselves on murder charges...
their findings are still their findings .
October 2012
DETROIT
Prosecutors in D'Andre Lane's murder trial say the odor of a dead body in Lane's vehicle and his home point to the murder of his two-year-old missing daughter, Bianca Jones.
On Wednesday, the jury listened to testimony from Martin Grime, a dog handler who works for the FBI in their Forensic Canine Program.
Two days after Lane told Detroit Police that Bianca was snatched by carjackers, Grime used "Morse", a 41-pound English Springer Spaniel trained to detect the odor of human decomposition, to search key areas in the case.
Grime testified that a series of barks indicated the dog detected human decomposition in Bianca's bedroom, on her blanket, car seat, as well as in her bedroom and Lane's vehicle.
On cross-examination, Grime said the dog did not detect the odor of human decomposition on Lane's clothing. Not long after Lane reported Bianca was taken by carjackers, police found his car nearby with the engine running. Bianca has never been found.
Police and prosecutors believe Lane killed Bianca, hid her body and concocted a carjacking story to cover it up.
