I do appreciate a bit of cunning in a poster.   I am really starting to like you Jethro.

One of my favourite movies with Mel Gibson starring is BraveHeart.

He is a very 'believable' actor.

He is a dynamite director too.

I hate Braveheart - so over-rated and earnest. Haven't seen it since it was released - something about a soldier searching for his family? Or was that Gladiator? Or was that Rob Roy? Or was that Saving Private Ryan? Or was that.........?

nah, we already had that. Berry and Denzil. Neither one deserved it according to the Hollywood goss.

You're forgetting that George Freeman shot that unarmed black teenager and was found not guilty. Oscars are all about politics (the way Jim Cameron's ex-wife won Best Director when he was most deserving for Avatar) and there have been some very high profile racial incidents regarding blacks (Paula Deen et al). Also, there happens to be at least three films with black leading men that have gotten rave reviews: The Butler, (something) Station about what else? A black teenager shot by white cops and another movie I can't recall that has alot of buzz to it. Add Oprah Winfrey for Best Supporting Actress, or Best Actress and you have the Academy playing topical again. Actually, if any black actors win, they should remember to thank George Freeman who gave them this opportunity...

Denzil Washington didn't deserve it - he won for a commercial nothing film where he played a baddie - consolation prize for losing the year before to Kevin Spacey in American Beauty. Oprah said at the time she felt Washington should have won, I disagree with her. Spacey was excellent and deserved it. As for Halle Berry, I've never heard anyone say she was undeserving. The movie and her performance were brilliant in an otherwise unremarkable career.

Mel Gibson is a hyermaniac, can't act & boozes until he can't remember it's not cool to racially vilify Jews in Hollywood. He, of all people, should know that hollywood is, & always has been, run by people of Jewish faith.

What a loser, I never want to see hin again in a film.
