Pretty obvious really, but Lonely Planet think so as well.

Great weather, beaches, affordable real estate, no traffic jams, fritz, pie floaters, best wine (& beer) in Australia, great produce, the list goes on.

i live interstate (for years now) but i agree having lived in the other cities.

Womad
Low humidty
A lot fewer rainy days
Better public health services
Cheaper public transport (which runs in time)
No tall buildungs so the city streets are bathed in sunshine
A huge greenbelt around the CBD
Friendlier people
All public facilities-zoo,botanical gardens, museum and art gallery-within walking distance from the city centre
The Adelaide International Arts Festival
The International. Guitar Festival
The Fringe Festival

Would never leave Sydney.

I don't know much about Adelaide, but I have heard it said that the city proves Tasmanians can swim.

melbourne proves everyone can swim .Smiley Wink

If I lived in Adelaide I would not sell its virtues to hard,If the rest of the world/Australia know how good and cheap it is to live there l it will end up looking like Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in next to no time.  If you want it to stay the way it is now keep it a secretSmiley Wink

It's safe. Not many people can handle 43c in summer.:-)

I was born in Adelaide, have lived in Brisbane, spent 12yrs in Sydney and now live in Melbourne where I have been for 35yrs. Went back to Adelaide last yr for a holiday, just wasnt the same, much prefer Melbourne out of all the cities that I have lived in...................where else can you get 4 seasons in one day!

Melbourne's nice too.
