do Ipads have sound?

My old aunt had a stroke recently and is still in rehab hours away from family. I was thinking of getting her an ipad or something similar but I don't know anything about them.

I was thinking she would be able to keep in touch with family through facebook.

She would be able to do that skype face time type thing too?

And she loves to read, so can you use an ipad/tablet type thingy as an e-reader?

yes they have great sound and you can get headphones too

you can do facebook on it

you can facetime on it

and use it as an e-reader. I use the kobo app

does face time cost anything extra or use much data?

50 gig!?!  wow. I have just upped mine to 8 LOL

i dont actually face time so cant answer that. I expect if you are using wifi, it just goes on your normal internet usage?
