Topside, if I come across a shouter in the real world I just walk away. 

IMO they shout because people just aren't interested in their views in the real world....I know that I'm not interested.

Maybe because they come across as belligerent. .

I listen to those who speak quietly, even if I don't agree with them (sometimes very strongly), and respond in kind.

It shows mutual respect.
