Nuclear weapons are now in the hands of amost every tin-pot dictator and nation on the planet

It hasn't stopped people takiing cheap holidays to Bali, breeding children they can't support, taking out 4 years deferred payment with Harvey Norman or having breast and hair implants, beginning second-families in their 50s, etc.

At the same time, people would sigh in relief if the world went boom.  They hoped the year 2000 would relieve them of having to live out the rest of their lives, same last Christmas when it was hoped the Mayan Calander prophesy would be fulfilled
