I normally don't enter Gold Lotto on a regular basis, but on this particular occasion, around 6 months ago they were having a promotion where all prizes except Division 1 were tripled, so I decided to take my chances along with everybody else.

As you can see in Game 13, I matched 5 numbers for a 3rd Division prize of $997.70 except that thanks to the promotion, it was tripled to a total prize of $2993.10. It is said that money can't buy HAPPINESS, but on this occasion I beg to differ.

I was able to help out some good friends who were in severe financial difficulties at the time, and the happiness and pleasure I derived from literally seeing the weight immediately lift off their shoulders made me extremely thankful that fate had smiled upon both of us that day. And yes, he & his wife are now back on their feet and have since repaid every cent in full.

Thank you for saying so, Icy, but I know that had our positions been reversed, they'd have done exactly the same thing for me, without my even asking.

Besides, because I now live alone and don't have a partner, the money would have been sitting in my bank account which pays no interest anyway, so it was a real pleasure that I won it at a time when I was able to put it towards a worthwhile purpose. 🙂
