I was replying to the person who said the reason it's not a good idea to broadcast the fact you put up lights

is because people go around stealing and smashing them

So I wrote 'disappointing'

it's disappointing that people would glean information on the ebay boards, then go to the trouble to try to track them down so they could go out looking for those addresses in order to steal or smash Christmas lights

Last year I propped the rope lights shapes up inside the windows. I think I had every dang insect within a 10 mile radius in my house.

This year I've made hubby nail them to the outside of the house Smiley LOL

rofl pimpy

we have never had that problem well not yet anyways

Lol..good move..the bugs will be disappointed though

😛

I love fairy lights, too..all year round..they are too nice not to have brightening things up
I have blue solar fairylights around the windows in the sunroom, they are lovely

We used to have a beautiful lights display............we had done it for nearly 20 years.......................(an award winning display).

But I got on the wrong side of some on here and a few Chrsitmases ago I received a fake call pretending to be frommy local council  saying I was being closed down and the Police notified as I had electocuted a child who had touched one of my lights (this was not true)

Now this call could have been anyone............that is true......................but that week I had read a thread on another site that was about my lights display and hoping my husband and I get electrocuted putting up our display......................(a bit too much of a coincidence I think.)

When I mentioned it here on the boards I was bombarded with posts from the members of that forum asking me how I had read the thread...........................as they thought I was not a memeber and could not have read it......................but no one denied it.................or even expressed any disgust over the matter.

Blardy wrong isn't it. Over the years similar reporting to the authorities over made up allegations such as child abuse, stealing, stalking etc have occured on these boards. 😞
