This isn't the first thread asking people not to post political threads, it seems to have the opposite effect.  It is not possible to control conversations, waste of time.

LOL, yes, it does.

I don't think they do have a right to 'complain' about a number of threads on the same topic. Voice their opinion maybe, but there is no rule you can only have one thread per major topic.

Whats the difference between complaining and voiceing and opinion?

I also lol at the people "complaining" about me "voicing my opinion" on this thread.

Heres a tip for all of you...if you dont like my opinion on this thread, dont read it

I think they do. "Voicing an opinion" /complaining is the same thing in this instance. In my opinion, of course.

Agreed.

Well, I would rather see more political discussions than the trivia that is being posted here; but I could not be bothered to complain about those topics.  I just ignore them, do not post in  them.  It would not occur to me to start a topic saying that people should not talk about something or other.

But i prefer to discuss something that actually matters.  What is happening in Australia (and the rest of the world) in this moment matters, it will affect all of us  and the lives of our children; to say that we should not talk about it is just beyond believe.

By the way isn't it possible to create separate group here named maybe "trivia only, no politics"?  Then you can post there and let people who want to discuss wide range of topics post here.

Yes but the subject at hand is not about what your preference is. It's about what right you have to post a topic of your preference.

i typed out a big reply just then but my internet crashed as i posted it and now its gone.

And, i cant be bothered to type it all out again so....carry on

Politics is OK .It's not in amongst these.

Discussion Boards Usage Policy

  • Using, or posting material to, eBay’s discussion boards to discourage others from using eBay or its related services (including PayPal).

  • Posting material about eBay or its related services (including PayPal) that eBay considers to be false, misleading or inaccurate.

  • Using, or posting material to, eBay’s discussion boards for petitions or campaigns against eBay or its related services (including PayPal).

There is no doubt politics is a suitable discussion topic for CS. If it wasn't threads would have been moved out/ deleted in the past by moderators.

The OP wasn't just giving an opinion, she was telling others time to move on, get over it, no more political threads/discussion for 3 years.

Also.. the fact that anyone has posted here for 10 years or more doesn't carry any weight either, their opinion is no more important than a member who just started posting here last week or yesterday...

We could go back to the days of multiple Centrlink threads discussing when the family tax bonuses were due to get paid out... etc.

As supernova pointed out ebay forums now have a group option. A politics free Group might suit those that don't want to get involved in current affairs, budgets and deficits, how the country is going economically, and whether the Education bonus will still get paid out next year... all covered under politics.

Not sure what you are on about.  Yes,  I & everybody  else have a right to post topics/contribute to topics on various issues.  But NOBODY has the right to tell other people that they should not be discussing certain topics provided it is withing this Forum's guidelines.  If there are several political topics in one time that is because there are many different political subjects that can be discussed.

And as TA lurches from one embarrassment to another, and makes some very dangerous changes, people will be discussing them, like it or not.

Which is what the OP has done in the opening post.

there is politics in so many things

It's not like picking a football team ...not to me it isn't anyway .

The opening post here is Political ..it shows thepolitics of power/disempowerment

Everyone has rights ...as long as we realise that our rights shouldn't deny anyone else their own rights .

I post about Politics .I'm not a lesser member/poster because of that
