I am realy disgusted at the rulings of VCAT, to go against the majority of the residence in that area. It is criminal and against Australians laws to overide majority votes.
The trouble is that VCAT is made up of many different departements, so who was the one that made the final descission in favour of McDonalds?
Smacks of bribery to me.
If the local Member off Parliament can not stand up for the people he should represent and be counted, regarding this fiasco, then perhaps the local community should tak their plight to the Media to make other people realise how ruthless those big commercial companies are. They are as bad as drug dealers as far as I am concerned.
I never liked McDonalds and never will. I rather make my own Hamburgers or if I have to, because of travelling, I go to Subways and get a salad.

Lind.........it has been in the media, they (Anti McDonalds spokesmen) have even been to the McDonald headquarters in Chicago, USA with a petition of over 100,000 signatures that dont want McDonalds, the local MP has done what he can do, he doesn want it, the council dont want it and the people that live in The Dandenongs/Yarra Ranges dont want it.
It looks really ugly so far, the other little shops, blend in really well, this will stick out like a sore thumb.

Everthing is just so processed and FULL of preservatives.
But I'm skeptical when they use mice as test subjects and relate the findings to humans.
Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.
