Flashie your pic reminds me of that ghastly movie The Birds..........

PLEASE DO NOT VOTE... I did NOT take this photograph.

However, it is such a uniquely fascinating shot of a pilot ejecting from his damaged aircraft literally only metres from the ground, during an air show in the US, that I figured others would find it equally as amazing as I did.

Chuk, I realise that you're hardly a threat to national security, but was this before or after 9/11?

hahaha way before. It was back when kids could go in the cockpit and have their picture taken wearing the captains hat. The pilot said I was more than welcome to do it too as it was my 21st

No kudos please... it is NOT my photograph, but I post it purely as the perfect example of 'being in the right place at the right time'. It also shows the value of carrying a camera at all times, even if it's only the one in your mobile phone.

We have black and red cockatoos making a real racket (and mess) here and I've tried to get a few shots today of them in flight and missed it every time.

Then I had a butterfly just about posing and sitting on my camera...flight and movement grr. Hard!
