Hi Iza, hi Stringers 🙂

Glad the weather turned out ok, Iza. There were quite a few fire emergencies around Australia today, but I haven't watched the news yet so I'm not sure if any properties were damaged. Fires must scare you, living where you do. I don't have enough trees where I live, so bushfires don't happen...floods do instead.

Stringers, I used my new pruning saw and ruined a good tree. When I stood back to admire my work, I noticed it was completely lopsided lol. I'll have to see if I can even it up tomorrow.

I am having salad from my garden tonight. I've picked it...now I just have to find the mojo to dress and eat it. I am excited that I can make a full salad with nothing from the shop!
.

Hi Karen
LOL @the lop sided tree. pruning is something we need to do later this week. I'll have to keep a close eye on OH, you know how men like to chop everything in sight lol

We had ham and veggies...............again..............with a few sausages thrown in to stop the men from complaining.

I think I am getting over eating ham every day.

We always buy our eldest daughters a meat club for Christmas...........(like a Christmas club that you pay into each week at the butchers)..........and they went to spend it today.

Our youngest grandson thought he was in heaven................he bought chicken on a stick.............(kababs)....and his burgers...................and his lamb chops............and................and......................and.

I wonder if he would be as enthusiastic if it was a veggie Christmas club...........some how I think not....Cat LOL

Karen.................my hubby does not prune........................he amputates.

Good afternoon Stringers Smiley Happy

The first post I saw when I logged in was yours Flashie - about the amputations!  I have seen a few trees suffer similarly over the years - with a whipper snipper Smiley Sad

Karen - please don't get one Smiley Indifferent

Not much to report from the wonderful west ......... cricket/tennis ........ you don't really want to know lol

Getting to the time I should be thinking about preparing dinner - I have a touch of the 'can't be bothereds' today - it is good to have a lazy day now and again Smiley Wink

How terrific to dine out on your home grown produce Karen - very rewarding after all the work you invested in the gardens and moving the soil!

I want pictures though - not that I don't believe you - just want to see the results Smiley LOL

.

Glad to read you and your friends were not impacted by the fires Iza Smiley Happy

Fires/cyclones/hail storms ....... a continent of amazing diversity isn't it!

Flashie - did you go down to watch some of the yachts coming up the Derwent?  Not an armchair ride down the coast for some!

Wild Oats sure is a fantastic 'machine'.  It will be interesting to see what the Oatleys come up with for the America's Cup Challenge they have lodged an entry for!

.

Good evening Stringsters

Flashie, sometimes amputating can be a good thing. My OH absolutely hacks the roses and we have the best and most blooms since he took over the pruning.

Is it a full moon?

No Prim - it isn't but since when has that made a difference to some lol

.

lol

Prim, I'll take a photo tomorrow...best salad I've ever had! I even put one small tomato in.
