Means nothing, there will always be somewhere, sometime, experiencing some kind of extreme.
How long have records been kept, a tiny tiny fraction of time.
And be careful of what you read, weather stations are often placed in spots which will give erroneous results eg near air conditioning units, airport tarmacs.
Data can be cherry picked.
Go to Mt Selwyn in NSW, It is not signposted and not known, but there are wonderful fossil beds, used to be a warm shallow marine sea. Now a winter ski field.
Trilobite beds near Cooma as well.
As I said before, be worried, very worried about Fukushima. This will impact this planet, our food, our lifestyle and our very survival. And if the cleanup of the rods currently underway goes bad, then we are all in trouble a lot sooner
At least we are somewhat lucky in the Southern Hemisphere, and the radiation will affect us more slowly, but will over the passage of time
Also the gulf oil spill, kept off the media like Fukushima, but affecting the ocean currents, eg loop current, and this will have more affect on earth's climate, than the carbon dioxide scam.
And there are other things as well which need to be change, the amount of rubbish produced, waste of food and resources.
Carbon dioxide is not an issue, just a scam to introduce an agenda to change society.

Maurice Newman, Tony Abbott's top business adviser
The Coalition distanced itself from comments he made ..
Back in November the Coalition government distanced itself from controversial comments by Maurice Newman..who said that wages were too high and the government could not afford education and disability funding promises.
I think he may be aware that the Direct Action policy wasn't fully funded and fully costed as per pre election promise
and like many perhaps he knows it's a dud policy
oh yes...not to mention the need to rubbish Global Warming so as to help avoid that early election TA promises he's call if necessary

As one clown to another LL27 they switched from temp recording from post offices to temps at airports which are unversaly
accepted as the hottest spot in town.
By the way I hail from Longreach & I can assure you that it has had hotter nights than low 30s and those when air/con was not found in homes very much.
I find it amusing that I am older than most of the records that are being used here to make one point or another.:-)

you'll need proof. OK ? too many claims made to accept that on face value. do you keep records ? i'm inclined to go with the professional meteorologists myself .

The mistakes made by our BOM are an embarrassment.

Carbon pricing worked in Australia, it reduced greenhouse pollutants, increased renewable energy usage and increased research into clean power sources. Just like fines reduce the number of speeding cars on our road,..money is an excellent motivator in a capitalist society.
