Is it cheaper to fly from Perth to Fiji than it is to Bali?

I have been to Fiji a long time ago and liked it. However the political instabilty there would put me off going there now.

The food was quite epensive in Fiji.

I don't care what people think about me going to Bali, I just wish our media would show both sides but I suppose tens of thousands of people a year having a great time isn't news?

but but but, as long as you know I wasn't being rude.....

yes...I was following the lines of your comments about food poisoning not so killing quickly

they ate calamari  and prawns though not blue ringed octopus or other squid which contain  TTX

well, I was tempted to point that out......

no pufferfish either - they just ate "regular" food, not normally known to be dangerous.

I haven't read the thread so hopefully I am not off topic.

I have been to my podiatrist this morning, she told me that she and her OH went to Bali for xmas, and both came back  with dengue fever.

I would rather stay home and get sick. lol.

there is also shell fish poisoning

The toxins responsible for most shellfish poisonings are water-insoluble, heat and acid-stable, and ordinary cooking methods do not eliminate the toxins. The principal toxin responsible for PSP issaxitoxin. Some shellfish can store this toxin for several weeks after a harmful algal bloom passes, but others, such as butter clams, are known to store the toxin for up to two years. Additional toxins are found, such as neosaxiton and gonyautoxins I to IV. All of them act primarily on the nervous system.

PSP can be fatal in extreme cases, particularly in immunocompromised individuals. Children are more susceptible. PSP affects those who come into contact with the affected shellfish by ingestion.[1] Symptoms can appear ten to 30 minutes after ingestion, and include nauseavomitingdiarrheaabdominal paintingling or burning lips, gums, tongue, face, neck, arms, legs, and toes.[1] Shortness of breathdry mouth, a choking feeling, confused or slurred speech, and loss of coordination are also possible.

Crikey I was joking, I shoulda put lol coz I can't get smilies on my iPad. I think that after all these years you know that I would have been rude straight back at ya if I took offence!

Iza like I said flights from Perth to Bali are cheap as chips, my flight home is $35 +taxes.
My husband is a FIFO worker, I was looking at staying in a WA costal town for two nights while he is home next
week, hotel cost would be $455 for two nights, add petrol, food, wine tour and I was looking at over $2000 I can have 10 days in Bali for that!
