I remember some laughing

When we suggested Indonesia would not tolerate our navy straying into their waters:

"Navy chief spokesman Commodore Untung Suropati confirmed that a number of warships had moved toward the Australian border." -- The Jakarta Post, 21/1/14

Good, perhaps they can stop the ricketty boats from leaving Indonesian waters

I count 8 ships there. That's four times the size of our navy. I hope they don't get serious, though I hasten to add I don't think much will come of it,Tone being the true statesman that he is.

Petra Its how International problems can be sorted out online now.  A little bit of a gentle hug and some other squeezy hugs in brackets can rule the world now.

Only a few more years to go.Let's hope the neighbours are still talking to us.

You obviously don't get spots brand of humour!

Sarcastic? Me? I'll go for option A 🙂

It is obvious to the regular posters that Spot's comment was tongue in cheek.

I think that we can stop all aid to Indonesia now....

If they have enough money to buy all those new boats and submarines and helicopters they really don't need our money.

Indonesia is expecting deliveries of F16 and other fighter jets from US and Russia. It bought hundreds of Leopard main battle tanks from Germany, as well as AH-64 Apache helicopters for its army. And some navy vessels

Has our PM voiced anywhere that our relationship with Indonesia is no longer  important ?
