Best if you put that question to freshwaterbeach to see what gems of wisdom were gleened from thst tome

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

incidentally, at 74 yo I think she has aged beautifully.

She is secure enough within herself not to resort to the knife to deny aging (or attract a man)..

No Poddy, you were the one who stated:

I am not saying that feminisn is the cause for that percentage but the rate has certainly increased since Greer got into the act.

There are a lot who will say that Greer did a lot of good and perhaps so but Greer also did a lot of harm to the children of the increased percentage of marriage and partnership breakdown.

Freshwater has used her first hand knowledge of Greer's books to put the case that she did a lot of good for women. Now it's your turn to  explain why you believe she did a lot of harm - and producethe  evidence to back it up.

There seem to be some here who know very little about her.  I'd suggest they read some or all of her books.

Greer was very scathing and smart mouthed about Julia Gillards style of dress on Q&A it would appear since the outrage she has made excuses and back peddled regarding her comments about Julia Gillard's dress sense.

Yep, this is what she said:

“Every time she turns around you’ve got that strange horizontal crease (pause for uproarious laughter from the Q and A panel) which means they’re cut too narrow in the hips.

“You’ve got a big **bleep** Julia. Just get on with it.”

Yeah charming.

Her skin must be as thick as a rhino!  This woman has made a career/profession of being controversial.  It appears that she has lived her life on her terms.

Not so long after her comments about JG, Greer appeared on TV on another programme,   her full body was shown, OMG she looked 9 months pregnant, it made me wonder if she had a mirror in her home.

The woman is 75!!!  What do you expect?  Body of a super model?

It's a pity none of you were around when Germaine really made a difference to women's rights.

She was outrageous and that is what was so necessary to gain the ground she did for us all - yes even you today.

She is an extremely clever woman, and unless you understand where she is coming from you will interpret her interview the wrong way.

She's 75, if you reach 75 (and some of you won't) then you too will have aged and not be the people you are today. Smiley Happy
