I'll be 76 this year so you beat me!

Well, Gilly, so far you and I have stood very well through the times.

Amazing what childhood memories come back when others mention some incidents.

I think the OP , which I traced back 13 years , sums  the thread up. Memories are just that, remember them, but I would never  return to  the life  that was imagined as "good".

We have this thread at least twice a year, and most of the time those who  yearn for the past remember it from being a child with no responsibilities then, which I do understand.

Monman, you are very clever. How on earth did you track me back 13 years? I did not join eBay 13 years ago.

The mention of "Bex"  brings back lots of memories of my mum taking them all the time...pretty sure she was addicted to those powders!!:-(

A cup of tea, a Bex and a good lie down was the panacea for all ills

And Dr MacKenzie's Menthoids. "Aye, take Menthoids: M*E*N*T*H*O* I* D*S " (with an upward inflexion on the S.Smiley LOL

I remember my father, back in the 40/50's ervery morning without fail, as soon as he got up each morning would have a Bex.........I am sure he was addicted to them.

we could hear Amaroo.....wasn't that far away from where we lived.  noisy buggas...vrooomm vroom etc.

Not to ever forget Amaroo's predecessor ....... Catalina Park

We lived nearby too, and Amaroo is where I learnt to do hill starts on the old gravel incline in an old Vauxhall.

And Castlereagh Drags.
