I just realized how dangerously we lived, being mixed up with the "car crowd".   Our own time trials along Galston Gorge to Hornsby Heights!  No seatbelts, either.

The car accessories of the time ware the blue triangle denoting the position of the battery, along with the billiard ball gear stick knob and the newly installed Tacho on the woodgrain dash above the Clarion Radio.  We listened to Ward "Pally" Austin on 2UW.   "A rickapoodie and a fandoodlie(?)"

Erica -

I think the OP , which I traced back 13 years , sums  the thread up

In that sentence the OP refers to the opening post, the text of  which has been copied and posted from elsewhere. It has been doing the rounds of the internet for years.

Thanks am*3.

That answers my question. I did get the original in my email from a friend and thought it may be a nice diversion from doomsday threads.

Looks as if many posters like it.

You're right lind, I am so sick, tired and sill of doomsday threads and general talk everywhere.  So okay it might happen and there's little us ordinary people can do about it, BUT

Who remembers the men with plackards on their fronts and backs walking the streets waaaaaay back with 'The End of the World I Nigh' writton on them?

Love the 'remember when' threads Smiley Happy

Yeah, okay typOs.... 'silly' instead of 'sill' and 'written' instead of 'writton'...  okay?  sigh Smiley Very Happy
