Freaki, lets face it, the Labor party and the unions are inexorably linked, or would you deny that?

So what if they are historically linked?

That is not proof that the Libs are virtuous and the ALP is corrupt.

Freaki, why are you so afraid that you beloved party will be killed off?

To have a efficient and just administration it needs the will of the majority of the population to be supportive in a democracy and like it or not we do have a democracy

 it.

What sort of democracy will it be with only one party remaining to elect?

Hopefully one with enough respect for themselves and their country not to use derogatory terms when referring to other people, particularly their Prime Minister and those who the majority elected to lead the country.

So not the ones who posed with signs such as Juliar, Bob Brown's **bleep**?

You would never have seen that from me.

Lead by example Freaki, there is no need to follow suit out of retaliation and spite.

and I did say "hopefully"

I was reading a book today which I found really interesting.

It was trying to summarize the history of Aboriginal Law in Australia before Cook (BC).

They were saying that BC, Aboriginal Society resembled one of Socialism, in a good way, it wasn't a bad article. I liked what they were saying and it made sennse, but I'm not sure that I could now live like that now that I have experienced the AC society, but if I didn't know any different and it was in my culture and traditions, it sounded really good.

It was just discussing the differences in the customs and values.

in materialism,

then individualism vs collectivism

nuclear family vs extended family

that sort of thing.

It has inspired me to learn more about Socialism, but I think I like my Capitalism too much to ever want to change.

if you do, i would recommend you go to the source, not others opinions of the source - start with the Communist Manifesto its not big or heavy reading, then Marx, Engels, Lenin, am stopping now.

The unions have smashed themselves, they no longer represent workers, their role is to survive in the manner that they have become used to. Union administration is a power unto it's own, it's role is to keep the organisation intact and have it funded by others.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I didn't even notice the extra letter at the time  😄

I've had to study a lot on Marx and Lenin, in both Law and Economics, are there different fields I should be looking at?

Marx particularly, he pops up all the time.

crikey, i really would start with the communist manifesto, take it from there - genesis of capital, wage labour and capital, theories of surplus value, origin of the family, private property and the state.
