It was a compliment, Boris, not a wisecrack about the Marx Brothers.
Karl Marx was known for his wit, albeit a bit on the naughty side in private. He was a clever guy aside from his writings.
Some of his quotes were thought provoking while being able to be seen as humorous...in a good way.
One does not have to agree with his politics to appreciate he was an intelligent, at times funny, man worth reading.
