Did they ever tell us why the German woman 500m speed skater got disqualified?

I didn't hear about that

I love the ice skating. I use to do it and Jane torvill was my idol. 😄

I had to give it up just as I got to ice ballet. Would have been very expensive after that, so although I was devestated at the time, as an adult I can see why. I still love the feeling of being on the ice but cant do anything I use to be able to do.

Was watching the ski events last night. They are awesone, closest thing you'd get to flying

Did you watchi it? She false-started twice.  Or so they decided.

And yep, been watching Sochi.  Live on Ten and One and also watching what I missed on replays on One.  Love it!!!

Yes, I did watch it and they (commentators) all seemed rather puzzled about what the reason was.  I didn't see much after her race though so missed the reason.  Last I saw was the opponent racing solo while she removed her skates, stunned.

what is the complaint about the half pipe? is it the speed?

it seems to be pretty slow. they aren't getting much "air" is that the problem?

Oh, OK.....I thought  they could not understand why she got two false starts.

I think it's soft and slushy in the middle or in the bottom of the pipe.

It was too narrow and by fixing it they created another problem, apparently.  Adding more snow at the bottom, making it too soft.....or something like that...
