''Conroy owns Shorten... ''

by that reasoning, as it was Pete Slippers vote that put tone in the Job.. Pete owns Abbott

what was it he said he wouldn't sell ? even that seems in doubt   Smiley LOL

Wouldn't it be nice if, just once, we could have an intelligent, informed political debate that didn't sink into rhetoric, histrionics, irrelevant  name-calling and blind ideology.

Yes, it would.

I think many tried hard to do just that because they supported the major policies of the previous govt.

All that earns is the old blind leftist retards type of attacks or the mocking favoured by some who assume to know better because they're male.

The accusation is that if you are in favour of Gonski, NDIS, NBN, etc, you're a rusted on lab luvvie, or a cancer on the face of this once beautiful, glorious, self righteous, white mans country, bleeding heart.

After the way they carried on over what they perceived to be Gillard's lie there is no mention or debate about all the lies Abbott told pre election.  What happened to we're on the same page about Gonski and NDIS?

They're been dumped. There is no intention of living up the their promises and it's hardly being discussed.  When someone does attempt the get the old Gillarhate taking over the discussion.

I find it comical that Conroy actually has so much power...

I can still remember him talking about all those rude pop ups that kept popping up on his computer and that is why he wanted the internet filter...

lol... serioulsy... anyone of any intellect knows how to turn off popups and if that does not work then it is becuase you have clicked on a link in a page that has allowed them.... once you start the flow it is very hard to stop and you need to run a good clean of your cache and search history... even run a virus and malware scan.

I can just imagine him trying to explain to his wife.... oh it is not me that caused those popups... it is the lack of an internet filter on the internet... roflmao..

We were only ever troubled by those popups 13 years ago..... just don't ever seach Beast Wars.... ever.... or if you do make sure your 3 yr old is not sitting at the computer waiting for images of toys to pop up. Cat Frustrated

Yes, he was a bit of a dill. To his credit though he did seriously study up an learn a lot about the communications technology while he was working with Mike Quigley to create the NBN and get the Telstra separation through.

”Incredibly funny”?  Just so incredibly funny?  thats why you posted so many funny faces because you found it just so incredibly funny? yeah right, now thats funny.

The failures of the labor govt are well documented and the shocking way they legislated some of these failures into law because they knew they were on the nose with the wider Australian public is well documented also.

The gonski and ndis were unfunded by labor and remain unfunded into the forward estimates after the 4 year cycle.

so saying they are dumped is an untruth but why doesnt that surprise.

I have to agree, Shorten did make a serious error of judgement and yes, I think he ended up with egg on his face.

I didn't hear all the speeches but one thing Abbott said did stick in my mind. He spoke of the price our armed services had paid in Afghanistan and Iraq and said that '"the success was sufficient." I wish so much I could believe that, but I have felt ever since we committed to the "Coalition Of The Willing" that we were signing up fr another Vietnam, and I have a horrible suspicion that the next few years are going to prove me right.

Have to agree with you there, She-el!

We should stop a**- kissing the americans and the brits like the colonials we still are...

unfortunately that isn't an option anymore .  the last time we defied them was ww2.

besides, rather than engage the nations in the region we antagonise them.. especially of late ..

which is better , engagement to make us 'safe' or antogonising them for political advantage at home ?

Having met Tony  Abbott in real life he is nothing like what you see in the 30 sec tv grabs. I have lately seen a lot more of him on TV and in interviews that show him as the articulate, passionate and caring man that I met. I hope more of that shows through.

I was a close neighbour of his for some years......I do not share your opinion.
