if the term i used is acceptable for NW to quote .. ir's still there .. why edit it from my post ?
as for answering you further, well thats pointless and will possibly be removed.
NW you obviously havent read smith who's as loony as pickering on the topic of pickering, or pascoe who at least gets pickerings character and many failings right.

Speaking of gagging and secrecy, does anyone know if the proposed journalists visa fee to Nauru got jacked up from $200 to $8000 as was reported a couple of months ago?

the naruans seem to have cause to remove the judiciary for the time being, some have suggested that under naruan law there are strong grounds for a challenge to the detention centre. the best way around seems to be removal of judges so appeals can't be heard.

personally i'd rather be a "bleeding heart" any day and care about the circumstances of others than a total hypocrite like TA who drags out his christian values when it suits his cause, yet forgets them when it comes to the decent treatment of asylum seekers. i also disagree with the previous governments away pf doing things and believe a completely new approach need to take place where people are dealt with on shore, processed if legitimate and deported if not. they are not criminals and should not be treated as such.

it might be '70 days ' which i doubt, but the current governments policy is rubbish too. public opinion is shifting (again)
in terms of asylum seeker policy both sides of politics have failed. .
