Astounding !!!
Having lived that life in that environment and not a life in an environment where she had the chance to learn other ways of living and coping it's not astouding at all.

Not astounding at all, sadly. It's actually quite common.
It's been said that addiction is a family disease - people tend to gravitate to what they know and what feels familiar.
And so the cycle continues.

Yes she was a victim. But then to go down the same road and victimize others?
Sorry, that does not wash

Yep, pretty astounding isn't it! Who would have thought after all that she went through that she didn't become perfect in the eyes of others. There's a huge amount of research on the inability of the brain to develop physically and emotionally when the formative years are traumatic. I'm not going to go into the semantics of childhood trauma, abandonment, abuse etc. and addiction. I see I am wasting my time as some do not have the capability to even begin to understand the lives others have experienced, and sadly, don't even want to try. Only perfection will do hey? I'm very pleased I raised my children to have empathy and compassion for others and to open their eyes to the world around them. There are none so blind as those who will not see.
The most confusing aspect for me is that I can almost understand the lack of comprehension of other people's plights, but I simply don't understand the anger and hatred for anyone who doesn't meet the expected standards of others. Fortunately for me, I suppose I never will.

Wollongong is not 2 hours from Sydney CBD.
People make their own choice (lifestyle.. by the beach, smaller communities) to live in those areas, no one forces them too.
