@daydream**believer wrote:Had some great news today.
Just had a phone call to tell me Hayden has been accepted for assistance from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). We have an appointment with them next Tuesday to discuss what help he needs for his speech. The ball is well and truly rolling now
I was wondering how the appointment went?

Hi Azure, weve had two appointments now and they are going well.
Hayden is showing great signs that he is eager to talk, we just have to teach him how to move his mouth into the position to make sounds.
Starting off with the easy sounds like ba ba ba, boo boo, wa wa wa.
Its gonna be a long process but hes starting at a great age

Good luck with it all daydream,
In reply to your 'is it my fault' period you went through....
You knew there was a problem, you didn't just let it go....he'll be right....he'll grow out of it, you chased it down and that to me is what being a parent is all about.
It is called 'mothers intuition' for a reason, and I trust it more than I trust anything in this world.
You can't please all the people all the time, so now I just please myself

Im another one who is a big rap for speechies - my eldest girl couldnt talk properly - hers was caused from trauma, she couldnt even say her own name - once I got outta that, imagine the guilt I had LOL
I have no shame about this which is why I am happy to say it - fast forward to now and you would never know she went to speech therapy for 3 years - from 3 to 6.
So good luck, it is very possible for him to be absolutely fine!
I cant believe he is 3 either Mugsy, this fat Banjo baby here is 2 and a half 😮 LOL
