morning all  Smiley Happy

so it is Flashie

hi all  Smiley Happy

it was a bit of a grey day here today and rain is forecast for romorrow. I wonder if we'll really get any this time. It's been ages and everything's so dry

Good afternoon Stringers Smiley Happy

High temperatures and higher blue sky today.

Good evening to go to Cottesloe and see the Sculptures by the Sea and watch the sun sink into the water I think.

That is the plan at the moment - unless I can be talked into doing something else lol

Cooking is something which has absolutely no appeal for me tonight.

Did you all have a good day?

.

Hi Stringers 🙂 Ive been flat out like a lizard drinking 😄

I had to read back four pages...and the first thing I saw was a huge bowl of Flashie's tomatoes. I have more...criez...where's Clair....there are at least 100 rotting on the vine atm haha...and I try to cook a heap each night, but there's only so many possible recipes when one is a chef like me lol

I also have zucchinis. At first they were under control but now they're producing heaps each day...and oumpkins...and eggplants...and corn...and heaps more. The veggie garden has beat me.

Yeah Flashie, they didnt reply to mine either.....but sometimes a pointed refusal to reply tells the story. Obviously, we get what we pay for.

Glad to hear your son is on the mend. Mine is about to suffer a similar injury if he doesn't stop putting his coffee spoon into the dry sugar, eww, it's all lumpy...so today I bought him his very own sugar bowl and he's not allowed to touch mine 😄

.

Good Morning Everyone Woman Happy

Have a good one.

Good morning Stringsters

Karen, that is how I settled problems here, if you want to mess it, I'll keep mine separate. No problems now, so that thought process must be a training tool LOL

Not raining today (I don't think there is anything left in the skies after last night) so all the windows are open to air the house after many days of damp.

Have a good day everyone

morning all Smiley Happy

Karen! there you are lol

I made our first batch of tomato relish yesterday...............and believe me one tiny red chilli per kilo of tomato is enough........................after I had bottled the relish hubby licked the spoon............and pulled a  horrible face.................he said it was very bitter.

Of course it was.............the cook forgot to add the sugar.

SOI had to put it all back in the pan.............add the sugar................boil it all up again..........rewash and sterilise the bottles..........................but it tastes much better now.

Just in case you are wondering why I never notices the no sugar in it..............I am allergic to tomato and didn't taste it before I bottled it.

Our son has gone away for the weekend with four of his mates...................and it is the first time he has done this...........and he is my baby...........and I will be so glad when he is back safe and sound on Monday..............he is probably having the time of his life and not giving us another thought.

But.......the upside of himbeing gone is the house is much quieter...............and I do not have to keep closing the pantry door as I pass it..............and the packet of clinkers was still in the fridge this morning.

Our other son is at work..........so it is just hubby and I at home................a good day to work in the garden...........my favourite sort of day................nothing special................just a day of pottering around in the yard together.

The old bloke up the road said I should preserve them and that it is not ok to leave them rotting on the vine lol

I asked him how and he rattled off a recipe, but it needs jars and I don't have any.

I might have to pick them and throw them in the compost, I just can't keep up with them and nobody wants them.
.

Really, you're both very lucky,. It hasn't been a good season for fruit and vegies here. usually we have so many plums I have to hose them off the footpatths, none this year and no pears on the pear tree either. Smiley Surprised

I noticed our next door neighbours also have no fruit on their trees.

Mum & Dad usually keep us supplied in tomatoes over summer, but this year we only got one batch
