Is Tone's father still around or has he 'died of shame'?
The "father dying of shame" comment was not made by Mr Abbot and was roundly condemned by all parties at the time it was made by Mr Jones. He was made to apologise publicly about it.
To bring it into a discussion now with reference to Mr Abbot's father is just as despicable. As is derogatory reference to his daughters and wife.

Abbott made the new rules , he lowered the 'tone' . if someone wants to have a go, he can cop it on the chin having set the precedent.

Abbott made reference to Gillard and the dying of shane after Jones.
He said her govt should just die of shame. One of his front benchers said she should just go away and die.
In opposition he relished each and every below the belt or sexist insult he could muster. Nothing has changed.
You don't watch parliament, question time or senate committees do you.
There is no decorum since he took over the top job and installed the biased bronnie into the speaker's chair.

You're right freaki, I don't watch parliament, question time or senate committees, but I find comments like that quite deplorable from anyone. However they made to her in her role as PM and not aimed at any member of her family, as has been done on this forum.

The only comments about Abbott's family have been about how he use them to futher his purposes, that I've seen or made anyway..
Did I miss the ones about his wife being a gay.
He's the one who carted his daughters around in white dresses telling people to vote for him because his daughters are attractive. He's the one who said some women deserved to be elected because of her good looks. If there are complaints or people having a dig about that it's his own fault.

Personally, I think she is more intelligent than her hubby. She comes from a strong labor family 😄 I reckon she's done a runner. I know I would.
Has anyone seen her? Google has lost her too.

never mind, there is plenty of time to turn it into a bashing Ms Gillard/Mr Rudd thread, it's only early. ![]()
