I slaughtered the last rooster that kept attacking me, parents wasn't too happy about that at the time, cause it was a prized black thing in his prime & he was beautiful. She made a great stew out of him, meat was a bit tough, but was very tasty.
we had this gorgeous rooster on the farm...beautiful white feathers and a bright red comb....One day the cattle dog walked past, leant over and bit....
Dead rooster....so hubby cleaned it and we roasted it....The damn legs would not lay down in the oven.......
The girls (10, 13 and 16) took one look and said "is that ours?":O
Dad lied...they ate...I couldn't.
They talk about that rooster when we have roast chicken....:^O

Yesterday I let her out so I put my 2 midget roosters (1x silkie, 1 x tiny jap) into one cage together .. lasted about 10 seconds until I could drag them apart .. they're visious little things... but the silkie that is about 4 times the size of the jap gets beaten up all the time, and the jap exercises himself constantly all day on anything that doesn't move quick enough.

Mum cooked that rooster in a large pot, think 'cause in wouldn't fit in the oven for a roast.
Hahaha
When it was time to consume this lamb we had, THAT didn't go down too well, all us kids loved the thing.. when it was alive. But we had to eat it in the end, 'cause mum wouldn't serve up any different untill those portions were gone.lol

Apparently no egg today?:|
If one or more were eating it there'd be shell left behind yes?
My few eggs so far have come later each day until yesterday with none but one was there first thing this morning.
I suppose they need to work up to the one each day thing.
