Some new mutation perhaps? But where would the white colouring come from? Only bats I know that are white or off-white are ghost bats or a rare albino. Albinos though don't last long in the wild as their own won't accept them and being white would stand out like a sore thumb to any predators. Are you sure its legit and not a hoax?
there are tiny bats living nearby in a huge disused chimney that was once the smokestack of a tile and brick factory. the sound they make at night is wonderful.
LL, they are probably tiny microbats. I have them at my home under the eaves and inside a market umbrella on the deck. Their main diet consists of mosquitoes. Although I am in the middle of a mini rainforest I have never had a mosquito. Evidently they eat around 500 mosquitoes each per night. And yes, their sound is so soft, lovely and musical. They are so fast and tiny that you only see a nanosecond flash if they fly past. And I have yet to find any poo around from them.

yes, microbats . and there is a largish body of water nearby to provide plenty of mosquito snscks for the little bats. i found a dead one a while ago , its body seemed undamaged on the outside so i have no idea what caused it to die. i sit out there quite often and just listen.
