Hi catob, thanks for the bump but i have no new news.

Mum has recovered from what she had. Dad says its because she is such a fighter but I dont think she has any control over what her body does now.

So all is back to what it has been for the last 6+ years

I think, when your mum is ready, she will just go herself. Heart

I have seen this happen. (assuming there is a DNR order in place)

To daydreambeliever,

I recently came across this thread and read most of it.  My goodness!  I feel so sorry for you,for your dad, your sister and your families.

The situation to me seems, that your mum is "waiting" for your dad to accept that she is going.  Unfortunately, your dad WON'T accept it.  In the meantime, his  own life is "dying" and he's been partly dragging his family's life with him.  So sad.

I applaud your strength (with its understandable lapses now and then).  Please do remember her as the person she was in better times.

azure, yes a DNR is in place.

Deb, i think Dad has started to accept Mums situation and esp accept that she will never get better.  Although he will never admit it, i did kinda get the feeling he was also a little disappointed when Mum recovered from this last illness.

Thankyou everyone again for their kind posts 🙂

someone tried to break into dads garage last night. They didnt get in but they broke the lock.

My sister went round to give him a hand organising a locksmith. She hasnt been over to the house for a few months. She says the house is looking very run down and the lawns are a mess. Its too much for him

The area he lives is getting worse and worse with crime. And it doesnt help that my dad abuses the gangs of kids when he sees them in the street.

My sister tried to talk to him about selling and getting a little flat but he refuses. He says thats his and Mums home.

I will try and talk to him about it tonight

I think that's a good idea, to suggest he sells and moves into a unit or something. However, I understand he may want to stay there. Perhaps he could hire a yard man?
