Yes, Ita's not done yet. Hopefully it will fizzle out rather than re intensify over the warm water.
There is a warning current down to Proserpine.

I agree with the sensationalist reporting, but I wonder if that's a strategy to make people think carefully about their safety?

I suspect it'll do more damage in the long run, because people will get used to the over dramatising of potential damage and not heed a really dangerous cyclone.

They actually do this because people have become complacent. People were only stocking up on beer and that was concerning the authorities. Also after Yasi and the major flooding at Grantham  they decided to make people over concered to make sure all people are as safe as possible. They do not want another Grantham flood situation... ever...

This is tracking just like Oswald did last year I believe..... that is what caused us to flood badly last year.... and created tornados.

I have a booking at a riverside cabin in Rockhampton on the 27th and I am just hope that all will be ok... if we flood like that again then we know we are all stuffed again.

Hopefully it will all be over in a few days and people dont start cancelling all their Easter, school holiday and the Anzac Day long weekend bookings just yet. Really bad timing Ita!!

Just like the other Ita, petulant.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

The problem is - the media. I live in NQ and went through Yasi and the Tornado (google) and I'm sick of the bull dust media attention of "what could happen" with this cyclone. Where were the warnings for the tornado? None because it didn't happen at the appropriate time. I went outside of my house and saw parts of my neighbours roof in my front yard and my other neighbours outdoor setting in my backyard. There was a trampoline on the street. The media need to stop making a mount hill out of a mole hill
