There have also been complaints about Telstra re-sellers calling people and coercing them into connecting with Telstra as they're made to feel they have no choice when in reality, the copper lines aren't being switched off until July next year

Yes, the Telstra sellers are a nightmare. I would never use them for the NBN because they are over priced and they under service.

They have argued with me numerous times about using eftpos via NBN saying it's not possible as the NBN dosn't support eftpos.

They are trying to scare people into using Telstra as a provider rather than shopping around.  Most other providers are cheaper and most others also offer more variety in plans.  The cheapest Telstra offering is $85 per month, and that includes a discount of about $30pm.  They don't offer the same speed tiers and quotas that the others offer. In fact, they don't talk about the speed at all.

Really????

OUR NBN PLANS START FROM JUST $73

That was just cut from the Telstra website

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

well that's either for internet only or they have reduced their prices during the past few weeks because according to my recent junk mail and phone enquiry they said $85 is the cheapest phone/internet deal including the discount. I was mistaken about the amount of the discount it is $20 not $30 on the cheapest offering.

Anyone with Telstra, watch your bills, their data usage charges can be interesting.

Not with them now, won't be again.

Buttercup: You mock my pain! Man in Black: Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.

$73 per month for a home phone/internet bundle, I could only wish.

Here the lines are so old they won’t support an internet service.  So it’s wireless or nothing.

So we have to pay for 8 gigs of wireless data per month, plus rental on the home phone plus the cost of each and every call, at a total cost of about $120 per month.

That sounds like my service before NBN...  except my monthly combined costs were higher.

You have my sympathy.
