As I understand it, there is no legal way, unless he dies before his mother, that Charles cannot take the throne.
He'll do ok as a caretaker.

Maybe he will do the right thing (in my mind) and step aside?

I guess it doesn't really matter, it's not like they actually do a whole lot, eh?

But my grandma loved the royals and I reckon she'd run screaming from her grave if Prince Charles ever became King after the way he has conducted himself and some of the choices he has made.

But really, what bad choices did he make? Ok so he married the wrong woman. Public opinion (at the time) almost required it.
He (and both she's) were always on a hiding to nothing.

charles is the best of a pretty rag tag bunch, he has OK politics for a royal and is interested and active in some "green" things and does a bit for his own country, job creation, on a small scale though. If we must, he would be my choice.
