Family relationships?

Are the children of cousins called second cousins?
Two of my nieces, who are cousins, have just had a baby each and we are trying to work out the relationship.

Hmmm, I just copied that one and now I'm not sure how to use it. Hang on, I'll look for something easier.

umm thanks, I think. I can't read that on my tiny phone screen.
Was I right? They are second cousins?

According to Ancestry, my dad's cousins child is my second cousin.

With much squinting I think the numbers mean generations. So since they are both 4th generation they are second cousins?

Probably wasnt what you needed anyway, you need to fill in names with that one. Yes, second cousins is right.

Sort of.

If your father/mothers cousin has a child then that child is your second cousin.

But if your first cousin has babies. Then those babies are your first cousin once removed. Although they are usually called your second cousins too.

(I'm Italian so I should know cause I got LOTS of cousins lol!)

Again, with much squinting I think that's what punchs chart says. Me and my cousins are 3rd gen and their children (or mine) are 4th.

It would be easier if we adopted the Islander tradition. Everyone's a cousin whether they're blood related or not lol
