from here http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_the_Queen_abdicate_in_favor_of_Prince_William
If the Queen abdicates Charles will become king by default. However as the UK has no written constitution then any law could be created by the Queen and parliament (if they jointly agree) to pass power to whomever they want. So it's possible to pass power directly to William, but that is not the default

Can't see William stepping over his dad to take the throne. He's too loyal a son, by the looks.

woah, can you imagine the family dramas iof Her Higness did that though?
Surely, she would have a private word with Prince Charles and warmly encourage him to pass the CROWN (There is just something so wrong in saying the throne LOL) to Prince William?
BTW, since he is now a Duke, do we cal HH William Duke or Prince?
(and does he have 10,000 men?)

That would be Prince Andrew (Duke of York) with the 10,000 men.
They went when his house filled with girls.

So how do they decide where they're going to be the Duke of?

How come there are so many photos of her out and about then?.. Doing her charity work - visiting sick children & AIDs patients etc. traveling to other countries re her landmine campaign as well as Royal visits, taking her boys to theme parks etc?
