Generally I would say yes. Anyone that served as a respected leader should be given the recognition of a state funeral.

In the case of someone like Wran, he left behind some great legacies and continued to work for his state after he left politics.

Only if they're 100% honorable ,in which case we'd only have to cough up for Bob Brown 🙂
