My brother in law got the call from thse "you've had an accident" people - he strung them along for a bit them hung up... they rang back.

Several times.

After about the 4th phone call, BIL asked then if they thought he was stupid - the caller laughed his head off and said all Australians are stupid!

So I guess if one person in 100 falls for it, they are making good money.

The latest one I had, the caller claimed my microsoft system was unlicensed.

Really? says me.... so it is supposed to be licensed? On all my computers??

I thought only Windows had to be - says me.... I could here the "gothcha" excitement on the other end of the phone as they started on their how to fix it spiel...

So I put the phone down and walked away 

But there are those who will always fall for this sort of stuff.
